Job Description

• Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Answers consults from the ED and other wards for Urology and Orthopedics
• Evaluates and provides appropriate intervention (in conjunction with supervising surgeon) for ER and nursing home patients
• Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate
• Formulates and implements discharge planning and clinical follow-up in conjunction with surgeon
• Dictates discharge summaries
• Performs first assistant duties in all surgical procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Current BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
• Current Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required
• D.E.A. Certificate required
• Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education required
• Infection Control Certificate required
