Job Description
- Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Answers consults from the ED and other wards for Urology and Orthopedics
- Evaluates and provides appropriate intervention (in conjunction with supervising surgeon) for ER and nursing home patients
- Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate
- Formulates and implements discharge planning and clinical follow-up in conjunction with surgeon
- Dictates discharge summaries
- Performs first assistant duties in all surgical procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Current BLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
- Current Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required
- D.E.A. Certificate required
- Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education required
- Infection Control Certificate required
