    MRI Technologist I

    This posting reflects an opening for an MRI Technologist I, and we are seeking candidates for that position. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

    Job Description

    • Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
    • Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
    • Prepare and/or administer medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
    • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, post-processing of data if applicable.
    • Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
    • Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
    • Assist the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
    • Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
    • Select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
    • Demonstrate commitment to department and organizational priorities.
    • Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties.
    • Participate in modality quality or process improvement activities.
    • Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
    • Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) and (ARRT)-MR or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or primary ARRT-MR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and (ARRT)-MR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARMRIT.
    • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred).
