Emergency Medicine Physician

Urgent need for temporary coverage at a contract in Grand Island, NE. This position offers part-time coverage to backfill two positions due to marriage and moving to another state. The facility is a Level 3 trauma center with a volume of 19K-20K patients and operates with three physician shifts a day (AM, Mid Shift, and PM). Scribe coverage has just started a new program, currently covering 5 days a week for 12 hours a day.

Job Description

• Provide emergency medical care in a high acuity environment.
• Work a minimum of 4 shifts in a row to offset travel expenses.
• Manage patient care with minimal transfers out (about 2% transfer rate).
• Participate in a block schedule as most doctors do not live locally.

Requirements

• Emergency Medicine trained and boarded.
• Current on skills of intubation, chest tubes, and central lines at a minimum.
• Clean file in terms of malpractice, unless named in a suit but released with no payout.
• Comfortable working days with no restrictions on shifts.
• Preferably reside in a compact state; if not, must obtain a Nebraska license through the IMLC or utilize the pathway for non-Nebraska licensed doctors through September via the Governor's Emergency COVID licensure.
