    Emergency Medicine Physician

    Services will be performed onsite at the Augusta VA Medical Center Uptown campus.

    Job Description

    • Provide emergency medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the VA Medical Center Emergency Department.
    • Deliver care consistent with VA standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance initiatives, and peer reviews as required.

    Requirements

    • Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
    • Physicians with past or current licenses that have ever been restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied will not be considered.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine is required.
    • BLS and ACLS certification are strongly encouraged (may be required by facility policy).

    Hours of Operation

    The Emergency Department operates 24/7/365, including Federal holidays. Physicians must be flexible to work shifts as assigned by ED leadership.

    Current Shift Structure

    Monday - Friday

    • 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
    • 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
    • 5:30 pm - 12:00 am
    • 6:00 pm - 7:00 am

    Saturday & Sunday

    • 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
    • 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
    • 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
    • 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

    Federal Holidays (weekday coverage)

    • 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
    • 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
    • 5:30 pm - 12:00 am
    • 6:00 pm - 7:00 am

    Compensation & Contract

    • Contract role (1099 or W2 depending on arrangement).
    • Competitive hourly pay (details provided upon inquiry).
