Ghost RX is currently recruiting an Oncologist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Buffalo VA Medical Center located at 3495 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215. Shift scheduling is generally Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Full-time and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Job Description

• Interpret mutational and molecular genetic testing to guide chemotherapeutic agent prescribing.
• Complete life-sustaining therapy conferences with patients and family members.
• Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions; treat diseases and disorders of the blood, spleen, lymph glands, and immunologic system, such as anemia, clotting disorders, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, leukemia, and lymph nodes.
• Administration of chemotherapeutic agents and biological response modifiers through all therapeutic routes.
• Perform apheresis procedures.
• Analyze blood tests manually including blood count, platelets, and white cell differential.
• Conduct diagnostic lumbar punctures.
• Perform bone marrow aspirates, bone marrow biopsies, and touch preparations as well as interpretation of bone marrow biopsies.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic paracentesis.
• Manage indwelling venous access catheters.
• Perform therapeutic thoracentesis.

Requirements

• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• NPI report printout.
• Active DEA license.
• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.
