Anesthesiologist (General Anesthesia)

Work on-site as an Anesthesiologist (General Anesthesia) in Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Provide perioperative care across a surgical case mix that includes General, Neuro, Ortho, and OB.

This general anesthesia on-site coverage opportunity offers 5 shifts per week with shift hours of 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM, no in-house call, and a care team model where physicians supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases.

Job Description

• Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the anesthesia department
• Provide medical management for patients receiving anesthesia for surgical and procedural care
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthetic plans
• Obtain and/or verify informed consent; discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
• Induce, maintain, and manage emergence from anesthesia
• Continuously monitor physiologic status and respond to changes with appropriate clinical interventions
• Work within the anesthesia care team model, including supervising CRNAs (3:1) and performing your own cases as needed

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an approved Anesthesiology residency
• Active New York physician license required (candidates needing to obtain a state license will not be considered)
• ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
