Cardiac Surgery ICU Nurse

Join our team in a high-acuity environment as a Cardiac Surgery ICU Nurse. This position involves managing the sickest cardiac surgery patients in a supportive team setting.

Job Description

• Work 3x13-hour shifts (rotating days/nights & every 3rd weekend)
• Consideration for nights-only and part-time (minimum 2 shifts/week)
• Duration: 4-6 months (night shift priority)
• Manage patients in a 20-bed HVICU with a case mix that includes CABG, valve replacements, and complex aortic procedures
• Maintain a 1:5-7 APP ratio in a high-acuity environment
• Collaborate with a supportive team of intensivists, surgical attendings, and experienced APPs
• Participate in onboarding that includes an orientation shift; ideal candidates are plug-and-play

Requirements

• Must be experienced in cardiac surgery ICU
• Proficient in managing patients on ECMO, Impella, and VADs
• Skilled in procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy
• Comfortable managing complex ventilator settings
• Must be able to work autonomously and collaborate with a high-functioning team
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications are required
