    Job Description

    • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
    • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
    • Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
    • Document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
    • Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
    • Must hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
    • If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
    • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
