Job Description

• The Certified Surgical Technician will be responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks that facilitate the patient's care.
• This position delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
• The Technician works as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support departmental objectives.
• Prepares for the pre-assigned cases using physician preference.
• Sets up the operating room before surgery.
• Opens supplies/instruments utilizing an aseptic technique.
• Passes instruments to surgeons during surgery.
• Follows established policies and procedures as it relates to counting sponges, instruments, etc.
• Initiates corrective action when counts are incorrect.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and communicates effectively with the team to ensure quality of patient care.
• Performs any other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
• Surgical Technician Certification
• Meet the NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law to be considered for this opportunity

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year of surgical scrub experience

Pay Information

Pay range minimum: $24.37/hr. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
