    OB/GYN Physician

    Are you a dedicated OB/GYN physician seeking an engaging locum tenens opportunity? A healthcare facility near Skanee, Michigan, is in need of temporary coverage to support its obstetrics and gynecology department. This position offers a mix of inpatient care, scheduled clinical hours, and call responsibilities.

    Job Description

    • Start Date: November 15, 2024
    • End Date: June 18, 2025
    • Call Requirements:
      • 10 hours of in-house coverage, followed by 14 hours of on-call coverage.
      • Must respond to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery within 10 minutes when required.
      • Average 8 call interactions per 24 hours.
    • Shift Details:
      • 8 hours of onsite presence with 24-hour call shifts during specified dates.
    • Practice Setting: Inpatient only.
    • Patients Per Day: Approximately 4.3 patients.
    • Number of Beds: 15 in the obstetrics department.

    Requirements

    • Procedures and Skills Needed:
      • Low and high-risk pregnancies, routine deliveries, and C-sections.
      • Vaginal breech delivery and VBACs.
      • Management of complications like abruptions and multiple births.
      • Proficiency in OB ultrasounds and gynecologic procedures (e.g., IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, LEEP).
      • Laparoscopic and open gynecologic surgeries.
    • Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
    • Licensure: Active Michigan state license required.
    • Additional Certifications: No advanced life support certifications are required, but candidates are encouraged to hold ABLS, ACLS, BLS, or similar.

    Additional Information

    • Hospital Support: Collaborate with 68 RNs daily.
    • Residents and Students: Supervise family medicine residents and medical students during rotations.
    • Deliveries: Approximately 370-380 deliveries annually within the unit.
