    Critical Care Intensivist (Academic)

    Houston Methodist Department of Surgery in the Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking an academic Critical Care Intensivist to join our Surgical and Liver ICU team at the Texas Medical Center. The physician will have clinical responsibilities in the ICU and should have training in the management of complex surgical illnesses, post-surgical care, and training or willingness to develop expertise in the management of liver failure and liver transplant patients.

    The candidate should have an excellent academic record or training with demonstrated potential for research funding or with a history of prior research funding. The candidate will be provided with time, mentorship, and resources for advancing a research career and can receive academic appointments in the Houston Methodist Research Institute and Weill Cornell based on their credentials and research history.

    Job Description

    • Manage clinical responsibilities in the ICU
    • Develop expertise in the management of liver failure and liver transplant patients
    • Engage in research with support for funding and mentorship

    Requirements

    • Fellowship trained in Critical Care
    • Training in pulmonary critical care or anesthesiology is preferred but other specialties will be considered
    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in primary discipline and in Critical Care Medicine
    • Eligible to obtain a Texas medical license or have a Texas medical license in good standing
