    Core Faculty Internal Medicine

    Houston Methodist The Woodlands is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to supervise Internal Medicine residents and serve as Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine residency program. This is a clinical faculty position with a strong focus on academic responsibilities.

    Job Description

    • Provide direct patient care for patients.
    • Assist in developing, directing, and managing the Internal Medicine residency program.
    • Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.
    • Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, including journal clubs and conferences.
    • Serve as role models and mentors for the residents.
    • Participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with the residents.

    Requirements

    • Proficiency in teaching and precepting residents.
    • Experience in graduate medical education.
    • Skills in research or quality improvement focused in ambulatory care and hospital settings.
    • Current certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
    • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Texas.
