Interventional Cardiologist

Billings Clinic is seeking Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologists to provide locum tenens coverage while supporting a maternity leave. This is a procedural, cath-lab-only role with no inpatient rounding or clinic responsibilities.

Job Description

• Specialty: Interventional Cardiology
• Setting: Inpatient Cath Lab Coverage Only
• Coverage Type: 24-hour call coverage
• Providers Needed: 2-4
• Practice Environment: Trauma Level I, Stroke-Certified Facility
• EMR: Cerner

Coverage Dates (Primary Need Weekend Focus)

• March 18 (8am) to March 23 (6am)
• April 1 (6am) to April 6 (6am) (flexible if weekends covered)
• April 8-9 (can be tagged onto April)
• April 14
• April 24 (6am) to April 27 (6am)
• June 11 or 12 (6am) to June 15 (6am)
• June 17 or 18 (6am) to June 22 (6am)
• Potential July dates available, pending full-time provider start

Clinical Scope

• Cath lab coverage only (no hospital coverage required)
• Average volume: 5-10 cases/day (lighter on weekends)
• Patients per shift: 6-10
• Beds: 32
• Assigned patient rounding only

Required Skills

• Interventional cardiology procedures including:
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Intracoronary stent placement
  • Atherectomy
  • IABP placement
  • PA catheter placement
  • STEMI coverage

Call Details

• Call Type: Beeper
• Response Time: 20 minutes
• Avg Callbacks: 20%
• Patients Seen on Call: 2
• Admissions: 2
• Locums call covers both procedural and consult needs

Staffing & Support

• 3 RNs onsite
• No APP supervision required
• No residents or teaching responsibilities

Requirements

• Fellowship-trained in Cardiology
• Board Eligible or Board Certified
• Montana license OR active IMLC Letter of Qualification required for submission
• Estimated credentialing timeline: 90 days
