    RN Clinical Educator Nursing

    Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a RN Clinical Educator Nursing to join our team supporting the Behavioral Health department.     Job Description

    • Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
    • Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
    • Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals, and seeks opportunities for achieving them.
    • Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

    Requirements

    • Hours: full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs).
    • Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
      • Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date.
      • Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses.
      • Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
    • Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.
    • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
