    Medical Director - Cardiac Catheterization Lab

    Lead as Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab with responsibility for operational management, quality improvement, and program development. Ensure an exceptional patient experience, promote a collaborative work environment, and champion teamwork with providers, staff, and community leaders. This split role includes both clinical/interventional practice and administrative leadership of the Cath Lab.

    Job Description

    • Lead as Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab with responsibility for operational management, quality improvement, and program development.
    • Ensure an exceptional patient experience, promote a collaborative work environment, and champion teamwork with providers, staff, and community leaders.
    • Split role includes both clinical/interventional practice and administrative leadership of the Cath Lab.

    Practice & Schedule

    • Practice Locations: Lawrence & Methuen
    • Call: 1:4 rotation
    • Procedures: 100 PCIs annually with opportunity for more; 300-400+ diagnostic cardiac catheterizations annually with opportunity for additional cases

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: Negotiated based on experience
    • Incentive plan: RVU bonus + annual performance bonus (up to 10% of annual salary)
    • Vacation: 4 weeks paid per year
    • CME: 1 week paid time off + $4,000 CME stipend
    • Full benefits package including medical, dental, retirement plans, malpractice coverage with tail

    Key Responsibilities

    Cardiac Cath Lab Leadership

    • Assure operational efficiency of the department
    • Partner with Cardiovascular leadership and physician stakeholders on process improvement/lean initiatives
    • Ensure compliance with all accrediting/regulatory bodies (DPH, Board of Registration of Medicine, etc.)
    • Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure appropriate care processes for urgent/emergent cardiovascular therapies

    Quality Improvement

    • Champion organizational safety and accountability culture
    • Lead and participate in quality improvement efforts and standardization initiatives
    • Optimize patient experience across all patient care delivery areas
    • Ensure Joint Commission readiness through everyday compliance and protocol optimization
    • Track, develop, and manage KPIs in alignment with annual hospital operational goals

    General Initiatives

    • Engage hospitalists, emergency physicians, cardiologists, and other referring providers in program development and performance feedback
    • Lead teams with differing viewpoints toward consensus and standardization
    • Promote collaboration across departments to achieve superior patient outcomes
