Hematology Oncology Locums Job in Iowa Beginning ASAP - Ongoing Assignment

Join our team for a Hematology Oncology locum tenens position in Iowa. This role offers a structured schedule and the opportunity to provide essential care in a supportive environment.

Job Description

• Coverage details: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with 16 shifts per month
• Call details: One weekday call week per month and one weekend per month, phone calls only
• Inpatient consults only; very infrequent, with hospitalists admitting all patients
• Responsibilities include consults, follow-up care, and oversight of antineoplastic therapy
• APP support: 2, with support staff including nurses, referral/triage team, lab, social worker, dietician, and front office staff
• Services include antineoplastics, phlebotomy, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies
• 4 exam rooms available with on-site imaging, lab, and pharmacy
• Daily volume: 16-20 patients; average inpatient census: 0-2
• Appointment times: 15-20 minute follow-ups; 60 minute consults
• Adult patient population (18+)
• Teaching opportunities available
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board certified in Hematology & Oncology
• Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
• Active Iowa license or active IMLC
• Must be available full-time Monday-Thursday
• Prior experience required - highly preferred
• Must be able to perform MUA
• Clean malpractice and background
