Join our team for a Hematology Oncology locum tenens position in Iowa, beginning ASAP with an ongoing assignment.

Job Description

• Coverage details: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 16 shifts per month.
• Call details: One weekday call per month and one weekend per month, phone calls only.
• Responsibilities include inpatient consults, follow-up care, and oversight of antineoplastic therapy.
• Hospitalists admit all patients; very infrequent inpatient consults.
• Support staff includes nurses, referral/triage team, lab, social worker, dietician, and front office staff.
• Services include antineoplastics, phlebotomy, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies.
• 4 exam rooms available with on-site imaging, lab, and pharmacy.
• Daily volume: patients; average inpatient census: 0-2.
• Appointment times: 15-minute follow-ups; 60-minute consults.
• Adult patient population (18+).
• Teaching opportunities available.
• EMR: Epic.

Requirements

• Board certified in Hematology & Oncology.
• Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology.
• Active Iowa license or active IMLC.
• Must be available full-time Monday to Thursday.
• Prior experience required; highly preferred.
• Must be able to perform MUA.
• Clean malpractice and background.
