Cardiothoracic Surgery Locums

Join our team in Central Alabama as we seek a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for 7-10 days per month of 24-hour call coverage starting in April 2026. You will work alongside a newly trained fellowship-trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon who recently joined our team.

Job Description

• Provide coverage for the ED/call schedule while working with the new surgeon.
• Orientation scheduled for the morning of your first shift on Monday, April 6 at 7 AM.
• Coverage dates include:
  • Monday, April 6 at 7 AM - Monday, April 13 at 7 AM
  • Monday, April 20 at 7 AM - Friday, April 24 at 7 AM
  • Friday, May 22 at 7 AM - Tuesday, June 2 at 7 AM
  • Monday, June 22 at 7 AM - Monday, July 6 at 7 AM
  • Friday, July 24 at 7 AM - Monday, August 3 at 7 AM

Requirements

• Active Alabama license required (licensing can be completed in 2 hours if you have IMLC).
• Board Certification or true Board Eligibility required.
• Must be willing to work alongside the new surgeon and offer guidance as needed.
• Inpatient APP support and first assist available.
• Experience in a Level 3 Trauma Center with Cerner EMR.
• Approximately 280 CV surgeries performed annually.
