Colon/Rectal Surgeon

Our client in Georgia is losing one of their Colon Rectal Surgeons and will need assistance with coverage while they recruit.

Job Description

• Active Georgia license and Board Certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery or General Surgery required. Must have active ACLS and BLS.
• Coverage request: 1 full week per month (7 consecutive shifts) - 12-hour shifts.
• Covering the ED, inpatient and consults, emergency procedures, and clinic. Shift is 7 AM - 6 PM. Call will start at 6 PM to cover ED, inpatient consults/procedures, and clinic call.
• Will cover as soon as credentialed and ongoing for at least 6 months (credentialing timeframe is 120+ days) - Mid December start.
• Hospital has a doctor retiring, which is the reason for the opening.
• Lower abdominal/digestive tract procedures including colonoscopies, colon resections, anoscopies, and rectal surgery.
• No APP support but there are 3 doctors in the practice that will be available in the clinic or OR if support is needed.
• Can expect to see a mix of 12-15 consults/procedures per shift and 1-3 cases when on call.
• EMR is EPIC, hospital is 503 beds.
