General Surgery Locums Job in New Mexico

Join our team for a locum tenens opportunity in New Mexico, providing coverage from March 30 to April 9, 2026. This assignment involves 24-hour call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM, with a call response time of 30 minutes.

Job Description

• Provide coverage for ER/Trauma and inpatient services
• Perform a variety of procedures including adult, pediatric, and trauma surgeries
• Conduct laparoscopic surgeries such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Execute chest wall and pleural procedures, GI endoscopy (upper and lower), chest tube and central line insertion, PA catheter placement, and vascular access devices
• Manage complex cases including atresia (intestinal, biliary), abdominal wall defects, umbilical defects (hernia), diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible
• Must be licensed in New Mexico
• ACLS, ATLS, BLS certifications required
• New Mexico DEA and Controlled Substance License
