    Department/Unit Summary

    The Emergency Room (ER) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 14-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. We strive to create places where patients choose to come for healthcare, where providers desire to practice, and team members want to work.

    Job Description

    • Utilize your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serve as a patient-care innovator.
    • Shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.
    • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
    • Document patient care given.
    • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
    • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
    • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
    • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
    • Work with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.

    Requirements

    • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 1-2 years of clinical experience is strongly preferred.

    Certifications

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
    • Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire.

    License

    • Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky. New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
