Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

Aspirus Spine & Neurosciences is seeking a locum Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated and collaborative team in Wausau, Wisconsin. This is a full-time locum position with an ongoing need, ideal for a skilled PA with neurosurgical experience who enjoys both inpatient and outpatient care.

Job Description

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, full-time
• Setting: Inpatient rounding (AM) + outpatient clinic (PM)
• Patient Volume: 10-15 patients/day
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 90 days (expedited process available)
• WI License: Required

You will be part of a collaborative neurosurgery team that includes:

• 2 Neurosurgeons
• 4 Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs)
• 3 Registered Nurses (RNs)
• 2 Medical Assistants (MAs)
• 4 Office Staff Members

This locum PA will work closely with 1 neurosurgeon and 2 other PAs, providing comprehensive neurosurgical care. The clinic is conveniently located on the 3rd floor of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inpatient rounding each morning
• Provide follow-up and consultative care in the outpatient clinic each afternoon
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Document patient encounters and care plans using Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Physician Assistant license in Wisconsin (required)
• Prior neurosurgery or surgical PA experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a dynamic caseload with autonomy and confidence
• Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
