JR Enterprise is seeking a skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to join our team at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417, supporting the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (Minneapolis VAHCS). The selected candidate will provide high-quality anesthesiology services, delivering comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries and medical procedures while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Job Description
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures and other medical interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement anesthesia care plans.
- Implant cardiac assist devices, such as pacemakers, left ventricular assist devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Implant cardiac defibrillators.
- Evaluate patients' medical histories, perform physical assessments, and determine appropriate anesthesia protocols.
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for patients, including managing complications and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with VA policies and healthcare standards.
- Participate in educational and training programs for medical staff and residents, as well as contribute to the ongoing improvement of anesthesia care practices.
- Respond to emergencies requiring anesthesia expertise and provide high-quality care under pressure.
- Follow guidelines for maintaining safety standards, infection control protocols, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
- Board certified or eligible.
- Cardiothoracic experience.
- Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the U.S.
- Proven experience in providing anesthesiology services in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and collaborate with medical and surgical teams.
- Knowledge of VA policies, federal regulations, and patient care standards is desirable, though not required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-demand environment.
Work Schedule and Call Coverage
Estimated Work Hours: 80 hours every two weeks, excluding Federal holidays.
Schedule Details:
- Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except for Federal Holidays
- 30-minute non-paid lunch break
- On-call Requirement: This position is subject to a rotating on-call schedule.
