    Family Practice Physician

    JR Enterprise is seeking a Family Practice Physician to provide comprehensive primary care services at the Cumberland County VA Clinic. This is a long-term contract position, offering a stable work schedule and an opportunity to serve our nation's veterans in a professional and rewarding healthcare environment.

    Job Description

    • Provide outpatient primary care services to veteran patients, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care treatment.
    • Conduct comprehensive history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
    • Manage a wide range of medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, and other common illnesses.
    • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary.
    • Prescribe medications and treatment plans following VA guidelines and evidence-based practices.
    • Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated patient care.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with VA policies and medical best practices.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
    • Respond to medical emergencies and provide urgent care as needed.

    Requirements

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
    • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
    • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state.
    • Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
    • BLS/ACLS certification (as required by the VA).
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in primary care or family medicine (VA or military healthcare experience preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of preventive care, chronic disease management, and evidence-based medicine.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
