Family Practice Physician
JR Enterprise is seeking a Family Practice Physician to provide comprehensive primary care services at the Cumberland County VA Clinic. This is a long-term contract position, offering a stable work schedule and an opportunity to serve our nation's veterans in a professional and rewarding healthcare environment.
Job Description
- Provide outpatient primary care services to veteran patients, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage a wide range of medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, and other common illnesses.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans following VA guidelines and evidence-based practices.
- Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with VA policies and medical best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide urgent care as needed.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state.
- Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- BLS/ACLS certification (as required by the VA).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in primary care or family medicine (VA or military healthcare experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of preventive care, chronic disease management, and evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
