Hospitalist Medical Director

Our hospitalist program presently has 10 daytime physicians and 2 nocturnist physicians, along with APPs. The program operates on a 7 on/7 off model. We have a separate intensivist team here 24/7.
This position will be approximately 70-75% clinical and 25-30% administrative with dedicated administrative days. It follows a Monday to Friday schedule, offers full benefits, and includes 30 days of paid time off.
Job Description
- Oversee the daily operations of the hospitalist program
- Manage the hospitalist team and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
- Develop and enforce clinical protocols
- Coordinate with other departments and manage patient flow and resource utilization
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Provide direct patient care and mentor staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida
- Experience in hospitalist medicine and healthcare administration
- Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in developing and implementing clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
- Excellent patient care, diagnostic, and treatment skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
- Commitment to continued medical education and professional development
