    Cytotechnologist

    As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a pivotal role in our laboratory by performing microscopic examinations of cellular specimens to detect and diagnose diseases, particularly cancer. Your expertise will directly contribute to patient care by providing accurate and timely diagnostic information.

    Job Description

    • Analyze gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides using advanced staining techniques to identify abnormal cells indicative of disease processes.
    • Work closely with pathologists to discuss findings and assist in the formulation of diagnostic reports.
    • Prepare and stain specimens, ensuring proper handling and documentation in compliance with laboratory protocols.
    • Participate in quality control activities, including proficiency testing and adherence to CLIA and CAP standards.
    • Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
    • Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
    • Experience is preferred but not required.
    • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for image analysis and data management.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
