    Community Overview

    Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is home to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, located in Pennsylvania Dutch country and one of 9 medical centers in the region. Lebanon's main campus is located in South Lebanon Township, 3 miles outside of Lebanon and approximately 30 miles east of Harrisburg, the state capital, and 30 minutes from the city of Hershey, Reading, Lancaster, and York. Six community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) are located in Camp Hill, York, Reading, Lancaster, Pottsville, and Frackville, PA, of which this position calls for visitation of all CBOC locations. Care is available to over 174,000 Veterans from the nine growing counties in South Central Pennsylvania.

    Job Description

    • Cover the range of Psychiatry services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility; the standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding currently recognized by the Joint Commission, VA, and national standards.
    • Spend an estimated 90% of the time involved in direct patient care and 10% administrative.
    • Address mental health issues including but not limited to dementia, mood disorders, schizophrenic and addictive disorders, PTSD, and Veterans with co-morbid medical/neurological disorders.
    • Provide mental health services including inpatient care on a 22-bed unit.
    • Efficiently and effectively navigate the electronic health record for timely completion of all required medical center documentation.

    Requirements

    • Must have a current license to practice in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. All licenses held must be full and unrestricted and must not have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered, pending action, or denied upon application.
    • Must be board certified/board eligible by the ABPN.
    • Must have current ACLS and BLS certification or equivalency.
