Job Description

• First assist in OR (laparoscopic, open, robotic surgery)
• ED & inpatient consults
• Endoscopy
• Trauma call coverage
• Post-op rounding and clinic follow-ups

Schedule Highlights

• Start Date: July 2025
• Shifts: 14 per 28-day period
• Shift Length: 24 hours (12 onsite + 12 on-call)
• Call Required: Yes

Team

• 2 Surgeons + 1 Acute Surgicalist
• 2 Advanced Practice Providers

Support

• Full ancillary team, EPIC EMR, lab, imaging, and pharmacy

Patient Census

• Average 160 patients/day

Teaching Opportunity

• Opportunity to work alongside IM/FM residents from University of Iowa

Requirements

• Board-Certified PA required
• Active Iowa license or Compact License required
• Surgical and trauma experience highly preferred
• Must be comfortable working independently with supervision available
