Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist
Exciting opportunity for an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our growing team! Lee Health Heart Institute is currently seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join the Advanced Heart Failure Center at the Lee Health Heart Institute in Fort Myers, Florida. This position will play a pivotal role contributing to the development and expansion of device therapy and coordination of inpatient and ambulatory care for all heart failure patients including but not limited to mechanical support and shock.
Lee Health Heart Institute has an established, full-service cardiothoracic surgical service performing 1,000 open heart surgeries, 3,700 cath procedures, and serving annually 4,000 patients admitted for acute heart failure. The HealthPark Medical Center is the hub hospital for the Cardiogenic Shock Program which offers surgical Impella and ECMO treatments and encompasses four large volume hospital systems totaling 1,890 licensed beds. The AHF program collaborates with the regional heart transplant centers for cardiac replacement therapies.

Job Description
- Contribute to the development and expansion of device therapy and coordination of inpatient and ambulatory care for all heart failure patients
- Manage patients requiring mechanical support and shock
- Participate in inpatient consultative and outpatient care responsibilities, including participation in the Shock Team
Requirements
- BC/BE by the ABIM in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant
- Completion of an ACGME accredited heart failure fellowship or equivalent direct patient care experience
- Proficient in management of LVAD, heart transplant, and short-term mechanical support devices including Impella and ECMO
- More than 5 years post-fellowship experience is preferred but graduating fellows are welcome to apply
- Eager to work in a growing, high-volume practice with excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate in a large multidisciplinary team approach to care
- Must have an outstanding clinical background and willingness to grow the advanced heart failure program with a strong focus on quality care
- Optional: Able to perform right heart catheterizations, heart biopsies, Cardiomems
