Emergency Medicine Physician

Join our team at a freestanding emergency facility operating under a hospital license. The facility is open 24/7 and features physicians on staff, private exam rooms, pediatric treatment rooms, a laboratory, and diagnostic imaging including CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.

Job Description

• Estimated shifts: 15/month (flexible)
• Shift times: 7a-7a (24-hour shifts)
• Daily census: 35-65 (currently 65 as of January, expected to decrease by April)
• Code requirements: Physician responds to codes
• Procedures required: Central lines, chest tubes, trauma, procedural sedation, emergency cricothyroidotomy, difficult airway management/rapid sequence intubation
• Acuity level/trauma/transfers: Traumas are stabilized and then sent to the main ER if necessary; transfers outside the system are called to the facility with the appropriate coverage
• Surge coverage: APCs are available if needed

Requirements

• ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM board-certified/board-eligible physician
• ABPS/ACLS/PALS certification
• ATLS certification (if ABEM, the physician does not need ATLS)
• Active Texas license
• Active Texas DEA
