Inpatient Neurohospitalist

Lucid Staffing Solutions is working with a medical center looking for a locum Inpatient Neurohospitalist starting October 2023!

Job Description

• Schedule: 7 on/7 off from October 11 to October 8, with ongoing coverage.
• Shifts are typically 07:00 - 19:30, Monday to Friday, with weekend shifts as needed for patient care, usually an 8-10 hour day.
• Call is required on Saturday and Sunday overnight for inpatient and unclaimed emergency department only; no stroke overnight as it is covered by a telestroke contract and not neurohospitalist.
• Coverage starts on October 11 and will rotate every other week.
• The provider will take call from Saturday morning through Monday morning and is responsible for all stroke alerts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Locum will also cover stroke activations during their shift from 07:00 to 19:00.

Requirements

• Reason for coverage: vacancy post-retirement and opening of a new position.
• Patient population for required coverage: adult, emergency department, TSE stroke.
• Average number of patients per day (inpatient): 8-15.
• Number of ICU beds: 18.
• Documentation system/EMR: Epic.
• Trauma level/designation (hospital): Level II and Stroke Comprehensive.
• Required neurology procedures: diagnostic/therapeutic taps, lumbar puncture, thrombolytic therapy, EEG, evoked potentials, disability evaluation, dysphagia screening.
