    Orthopedic Physician Assistant

    Marshfield Medical Center Weston is seeking an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our team in Wausau/Weston, Wisconsin. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a skilled member of the allied healthcare team, who is expected to practice at the highest level of their licensure. This requires providers to stay up to date with the latest evidence-based medicine. They work collaboratively with the Hospitalist to facilitate acute care of the adult patient. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare disciplines utilizing a team approach. The nurse practitioner participates in all aspects of care of the hospitalized patient, including admissions, discharge, daily rounds, and patient education.

    This role will be a 50/50 split between hospital and clinic duties. A schedule of Mon-Fri 10am-6pm is planned with Saturday work as well (4 hours). The team is looking for an APC with one to two years of orthopedic experience.

    Job Description

    Requirements

    • Minimum Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)/Physician Assistant
    • Preferred/Optional: One to two years of APC orthopedic experience
    • Minimum Required: Three years of experience as a staff nurse in a hospital setting preferred
    • Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure
    • Minimum Required: Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
    • Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire
    • Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire
