    Emergency Medicine Provider

    We are seeking a Doctor of Medicine (MD) to work at one of our partner facilities. Maxim Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Medicine provider that has flexibility and the ability to cope with a constantly varying workload in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively with nursing and physician staff in a professional manner, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to explain choices to patients and their families. Additionally, the capability to work under pressure while making quick, accurate decisions independently is essential.

    The selected locum provider will be covering at Austin/Albert Lea (22 miles apart), as well as Owatonna and Red Wing. Candidates must be ABEM certified and must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency.

    Job Description

    • Provide emergency medical care in a busy, small community hospital
    • Manage 20-25 patients per shift, averaging 1.5-2 patients per hour
    • Handle approximately 18,000 ED visits per year
    • Work scheduled shifts from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
