    Job Description

    • Transports patients and patient-related items throughout the facility in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
    • Rotates throughout the different modalities within Radiology providing assistance to the Radiologists and Technologists in exams and procedures.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Communicates professionally with all staff, patients, and visitors throughout the campus.
    • Functions independently and as a team member, frequently with direction via telephone.
    • Maintains an orderly, well-organized work area and keeps supplies and equipment readily available while ensuring proper storage of all supplies and equipment in the work unit.
    • This position requires full use of arms, hands, repetitive foot motion, reaching above your head, and trunk rotation/twist.
    • Position requires continuous movement and walking.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, assists in invasive and non-invasive procedures, including the removal of IVs, preparation of sterile trays, safe handling, transferring, and transporting of specimens when needed.
    • Works varied hours which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Requirements

    • High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent required.
    • Previous hospital, clinical, or patient care experience preferred.
    • Requires excellent communication skills, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests, and staff.
    • Basic computer skills are required.
    • Must be able to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations.
    • Must be able to complete the Mayo Clinic's New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training.
    • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
    • Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
    • Requires upper and lower physical strength to be able to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them.

    Licensure or Certification

    • Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment.

    Compensation Detail

    $20.00 - $21.63 / hour. Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
