Currently, we are seeking a skilled Locum Gastroenterologist to support our inpatient services and enhance our patient offerings.

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services, including colonoscopy, EUS, and ERCP.
• Manage inpatient responsibilities with an average daily census of 10-12 patients.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call schedule, providing coverage for both routine and emergency cases.
• Collaborate with an advanced practice provider team, although supervision of APPs is not expected.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC, for patient documentation and care coordination.
• Effective communication with patients and healthcare staff to foster a collaborative care environment.

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology or Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship completion) - REQUIRED
• Active Iowa medical license or active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) - REQUIRED
• Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED
• Proficient in performing EUS and ERCP procedures - REQUIRED
• Clean malpractice and background history - REQUIRED
• Able to commit to coverage from June - June - REQUIRED
