Locum Physician - General Medicine

Join our dedicated team of General Medicine Providers in Houston, Texas, helping our nation's Veterans through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role offers you the flexibility to work on a PRN basis, with current openings available in various office locations. Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is a government contractor focused on delivering essential services to veterans.

Job Description

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Primarily perform interview-based examinations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete all required administrative work, including addendums and medical opinions, within the designated full day or half day rate.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and care.
• Participate in quick credentialing and onboarding processes.

Requirements

• Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Must possess a valid and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
• Must own a laptop (non-Mac/Apple products) for documentation and reports.
• Willingness to complete DMA training and achieve DMA certification.

License and Certification Requirements

• Active and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
• Certification as a Board Certified Physician is preferred.
• DMA certification is required; providers must be willing to complete necessary training.
