    Social Worker

    Join our team at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, where we focus on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of patients. This role provides essential social work assistance to patients and families relating to illness, disease, hospitalization, and life events as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

    Job Description

    • Provide direct clinical services including evaluations, consultation, and outpatient psychotherapy.
    • Provide initial diagnostic assessments using DSM-V.
    • Develop initial and subsequent treatment plans, written in observable, measurable terms.
    • Provide individual, couple/family, and group treatment modalities within a short-term treatment model.
    • Document treatment utilizing SOAP format and ensure compliance with LMH, CCS, and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain current therapy notes, treatment plans, and other documentation according to agency policy.
    • Identify high-risk clients and review these cases monthly with Supervisor and Psychiatrist.
    • Respond to urgent care requests and crisis intervention needs of clients.
    • Take on new cases as needed and manage the utilization review process per insurance requirements.
    • Provide monthly statistics to the supervisor as requested.
    • Participate in staff clinical meetings and collaborate with the treatment team.
    • Engage in monthly clinical consultation and individual supervision.
    • Contribute to the LMH Community Benefits Program as requested by the supervisor.
    • Participate in monthly chart reviews as requested by the supervisor.
    • Provide 24-hour backup coverage as assigned and participate in the on-call schedule.
    • Offer backup to the Supervisor and other clinicians during their absence, including case assignment and monitoring high-risk cases.
    • Participate in special projects as requested.
    • Maintain CEUs appropriate to the position and meet licensing standards.

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in Social Work or PhD from an accredited program.
    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
    • Five years of experience in outpatient psychotherapy with an adult population.
    • Experience in brief psychotherapy models, CBT, DBT, and treatment of dual diagnosis consumers.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with group psychotherapy.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequent sitting, occasional standing & walking, and lifting of 5-10 lbs.
    • Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate a computer keyboard.
    • Requires ability to see computer screens and reports.

    Skills & Abilities

    • Strong mental health generalist skills in working with the adult population from young adult through geriatric.
    • Familiarity with psychopharmacology and common medications for medical diagnoses.
    • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with patients and staff of all levels.
    • Excellent critical thinking skills, good judgment, decision-making ability, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
    • Adaptable and open to accepting criticism or changes with a positive attitude.
    • Knowledge of community resources in mental health and human services.
    • Initiative in identifying opportunities.
    • Ability to handle conflict and give/receive criticism.
    • Maintains sensitivity, maturity, and flexibility in coping with difficult situations.

    Pay Range

    $72,371.94 - $90,464.92
