Family Practice Medicine Chair

We are currently seeking a full-time Family Practice Medicine Chair for our MeridianMD office for areas Muncie, Anderson, Fort Wayne, Bluffton, and Rushville. This position involves 4 days a week, 10-hour days with admin time built in each day.
Job Description
- Serve as the clinical director of Meridian's family practice program and furnish professional services as a general physician, including the provision of the full range of general medical services and administrative, management, and other services as assigned by Meridian.
- Provide and manage pediatric medical services, including assessing and managing infant, child, and adolescent patients following standards and practices established by Meridian Health Services.
- Be a member of a medical care team in accordance with NCQA - Patient Centered Medical Home standards.
- Provide comprehensive pediatric care, including performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribing and administering medical treatment and medications.
- Serve as a member of the clinical team at assigned service locations, reviewing/approving treatment plans and other medical or clinical documents as requested.
- Provide consultation as needed to enhance services for Meridian patients.
- Work cooperatively with Meridian professional staff in establishing clinical care standards and with other clinical staff committees as requested.
- Provide direct billable service hours in accordance with established center performance standards.
- Complete all required clinical/service documentation in accordance with the center's established medical/clinical records standards.
- Participate in center staff development and in-service training programs.
- Maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana and demonstrate current competence in accordance with the center's professional staff bylaws and credentials/privileges requirements.
- Maintain clinical staff privileges at area hospitals if required.
- Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position, such as attending Meridian medical staff meetings.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree required.
- Current valid Indiana license.
- Completion of a three (3) year residency in Family or Internal Medicine.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine.
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty.
- Meets all requirements to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
- Continuing Medical Education to meet organizational and state licensing requirements.
- Valid driver’s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
