    PA Wound Care

    Meritus Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our Wound Care Center. Located in Hagerstown, MD, Meritus Health offers competitive compensation and top-of-market benefits, and is a top employer in Washington County, MD.

    Working independently and in collaboration with Physicians, this person is responsible for delivering care and integrating patient services to patients with the goal of achieving specific clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes for specific patient populations and disease processes. This person will coordinate with the patient's healthcare team and adhere to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Delivers healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner demonstrating sensitivity towards unique patient/significant other needs. Preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs. Demonstrates the ability to advocate for the patients.

    The wound center treats all types of wounds including but not limited to:

    • Acute traumatic wounds
    • Chronic and complex wounds
    • Care of pressure ulcers
    • Care of venous ulcers associated with edema utilizing compression wraps
    • Care of diabetic foot ulcers
    • Post-operative wound dehiscence
    • Advanced treatment modalities: TCC (total contact casting), wound vac, PICO vacs, and cellular-based tissue products, ostomy care

    Requirements

    • Education: Masters in Physician Assistant required.
    • Experience: One year experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification: License to practice as Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland required. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required. ACLS in compliance with policy required.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise. Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire. Will have EHR computer access.
