    Trauma Surgeon

    Methodist Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified or board-eligible, Critical Care fellowship trained physician. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a Level I trauma center, where you will provide expert care to critically injured patients.

    Job Description

    • Evaluate and manage critically ill and injured trauma patients from initial presentation through discharge.
    • Perform a full range of surgical procedures, including laparotomy, thoracotomy, and vascular and orthopedic interventions.
    • Lead the trauma team, coordinating care with emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists.
    • Provide surgical critical care in the intensive care unit.
    • Participate in the hospital's on-call rotation for trauma and acute care surgery.
    • Participate in surgical residency and critical care fellowship with teaching responsibilities.

    Requirements

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
    • Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program.
    • Board certification or board eligibility in general surgery.
    • Completion of an accredited fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care.
    • Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas, or the ability to obtain one.
    • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
    • Strong clinical and surgical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.
