    Surgical Retina Specialist

    The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, serving the culturally diverse community of Western Queens, is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Surgical Retina Specialist to join the growing Division of Ophthalmology at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York.

    We are seeking a retina specialist with expertise in caring for complex pathology in a diverse patient population in the outpatient clinic setting and in the operating room. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement in the areas of quality & safety and medical education. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.

    Job Description

    • Provide care for complex retinal pathology in both outpatient and surgical settings
    • Engage in program development and academic advancement in quality & safety and medical education

    Requirements

    • MD degree
    • Board certified/board eligible in Ophthalmology
    • Fellowship trained in surgical retina
    • Valid New York State License, DEA, and Medicaid number
    • Experience in resident education and exemplary patient care
    • Creative scholarship is required
    • Medical fluency in additional languages is helpful but not a requirement

    Benefits

    • Faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience, and qualifications
    • Base salary for this position is $375,000 with faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year
