Job Description

• Monitor patients with cardiac conditions such as heart disease or arrhythmias
• Attach electrodes to patients to collect EKG data
• Monitor vital signs like blood pressure, oxygen levels, and respiratory rate
• Set alarm limits on monitors
• Detect dangerous or abnormal readings, and changes in rhythms
• Document detailed notes about cardiac monitoring results, medications given, and changes in condition
• Prepare patients for cardiac procedures
• Ensure that patients are properly prepared for required tests
• Collaborate with the healthcare team
