Pulmonary Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
Experienced full-time PAs or NPs to work in the office doing 100% Pulmonary Medicine with this well-established group of 10 Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians and 6 mid-level providers.
Job Description
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories focused on pulmonary complaints (e.g., cough, dyspnea, wheezing, sleep disturbances). Perform detailed physical examinations, emphasizing respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests:
- Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
- Chest X-rays, CT scans
- Oximetry and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Sleep studies (polysomnography)
- Develop and implement management plans for:
- Asthma, COPD, Interstitial lung disease, Pulmonary hypertension, Sleep apnea, Bronchiectasis, and other chronic lung diseases.
- Conduct scheduled outpatient visits (new consultations and follow-ups).
- Review incoming test results and patient messages.
- Manage prescription refills and prior authorizations for inhalers, biologics, or equipment.
- Participate in case discussions and continuing medical education (CME) related to pulmonary care.
- Schedule: 4.5 day work week: Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 5 pm, Fridays - until noon.
