Hospice/Palliative Medicine Physician

Locum - Hospice Provider

We are looking for one more provider for this coverage need. The provider must have an active WA license or IMLC and WA DEA for this assignment as they will be treating patients in the southwest WA area, which is considered part of the Portland metro area. In addition, they must have the OR license and OR DEA license in hand to be presented for this need.

Job Description

• Guaranteed hours: 8 hours per day; overtime applies after 9 hours per day.
• Provide telehealth coverage in Portland, working Monday-Friday (8 am-5 pm) with the ability to take a lunch when able.
• Take call 4-6 nights a month, plus approximately 1 weekend a month, sometimes with NP overlap and sometimes not.
• Weeknight calls are variable; may have 0 admits and 1-2 symptom calls, or 4-5 admits after 5 pm and multiple calls on complex patients during the night for crisis visits or GIP admits.
• Weekends can be busy if there are a large number of admissions and complicated patients.
• Call will be shared between Portland and Medford, with Portland currently having 350 patients (shared between providers).
• Types of calls include IDT, consultation and med consults, telehealth visits, and CTIs.

Requirements

• OR license and OR DEA.
• WA license and WA DEA.
• Board certification and truly board eligible within 5 years of residency.
• Should be BC or BE in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; highly preferred to have experience in hospice work.
• BLS required.
