Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine

At NorthBay Health, the Physician Assistant (PA) in Emergency Medicine is required to function as a member of the emergency department medical management team. The Physician Assistant is a health care professional with advanced education and training in emergency medicine services. The PA works under the direction of a licensed physician and is also directed by standardized protocols and procedures in collaboration with the supervising physician. This position involves 10-hour shifts (10a-8p).

Job Description

• Function as a member of the emergency department medical management team.
• Work under the direction of a licensed physician and standardized protocols.
• Provide patient care based on age-related needs.
• Evaluate patients' physical and emotional status.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current Physician Assistant licensure by the State of California Physician Assistant Examining Committee and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Maintains a current DEA license for schedule II drugs.
• Current AHA or equivalent certification in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience as a Physician Assistant practicing in a related field, or completion of an internship in emergency medicine at NorthBay.
• Demonstrates current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: adult, adolescent, pediatric, and geriatric.
• Ability to use computer, MS Word, Outlook, and telephone; knowledge of Cerner preferred.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Compensation

• Hourly pay range for Physician Assistant: $82.00 - $100.80.
• Maximum rate is commensurate with 20+ years of APP experience.
• Offered rate will be based on years of APP experience.
• Plus, a generous 10% per-diem shift differential available to qualified staff.
