    Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon

    We are seeking a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in Tacoma, Washington. This assignment offers a balanced mix of trauma call and outpatient clinic coverage with strong advanced practice provider support.

    Job Description

    • Duration: 6-9 months
    • Coverage Needed: Approximately 2 weeks per month
    • Shift Type: 24-hour coverage
    • Trauma Coverage: 24/7 ER coverage during assigned weeks
    • APP Support: Dedicated Physician Assistant support

    Practice Setting

    • Level II Trauma Center
    • Emergency Department trauma coverage
    • Outpatient orthopedic clinic (3 days per month)
    • Hospital-based orthopedic trauma service

    Clinical Responsibilities

    • Provide full-spectrum orthopedic trauma care
    • Manage emergency orthopedic cases through the ER
    • Perform operative and non-operative orthopedic trauma care
    • Participate in outpatient clinic for follow-up and continuity of care
    • Collaborate closely with PAs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary trauma teams

    Required Procedures & Skills

    • Full range of orthopedic trauma and general orthopedic cases
    • Excludes complex pelvic fracture cases

    Technology

    • EMR: EPIC

    Qualifications

    • Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
    • Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
    • Active Washington State medical license
    • BLS certification
    • DEA registration
