    What We Offer:

    • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours), 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with an occasional late day if a case runs over. Monday to Friday, no weekends, no major holidays, and no call!

    • Department: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), Operating Room (OR) position.

    • Location: Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem.

    • Unit Info: Some of the common procedures consist of Ophthalmology, Pain, and Podiatry.

    Job Description

    The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Requires at least 1 year of recent OR experience. Candidates with Interventional Radiology experience can be considered as well.

    • 2 Year / Associate Degree required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree preferred.

    • One year of ASC, PACU, or operating room experience preferred.

    • Current RN licensure in the appropriate state required. ACLS and PALS preferred.

    • Must have a thorough understanding of the role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of the unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to the patient's age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age-specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills required.
