Advanced Practice Provider
Are you looking to join a remarkable team where quality care meets quality service, in every dimension, every time? Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a compassionate, caring Advanced Practice Provider to join an established, growing Cardiovascular Surgery practice of 5 physicians and 7 APPs in Winston Salem, NC. The group is looking for an APP to provide surgical first assist, as well as inpatient care for pre and post cardiothoracic surgery patients. This would include new consults, H&Ps, discharges, patient education, ICU and floor care. Minimal outpatient clinic duties are also required. We treat patients with advanced heart disease, heart failure as well as lung cancer and other thoracic conditions. We are looking for a candidate with previous open heart surgery experience, including endoscopic vessel harvesting.
Job Description
- Provide surgical first assist and inpatient care for pre and post cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Conduct new consults, H&Ps, discharges, patient education, ICU and floor care
- Minimal outpatient clinic duties required
Requirements
- Master's Degree required; either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or post Master's NP program
- One to three years of experience in Cardiac Surgery preferred; RNFA required for NP candidates
- Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required; current NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, BLS, DEA registry required
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
- Thorough knowledge of diagnosis and pharmacology; thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating when necessary; problem-solving and decision-making skills
