Hospital Medicine Section Leader

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Science Center-Shreveport is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for the Hospital Medicine Section within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. The position would include clinical work as a hospitalist, publishing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, creating, tracking, and incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities would also involve teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, and conducting annual performance evaluations on all hospitalists. The position would include membership on the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital and expect other committee membership and participation.

Job Description

• Clinical work as a hospitalist

Requirements

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM
• Academic experience preferred but not required
• Five years of experience as a hospitalist
• Excellent skills in clinical medicine, leadership, communication, and teaching
