Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a BC/BE Pathologist. Applicants should be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with 5 years of experience preferred in cytology or FNA, and experience in diagnostic surgical pathology. The available position is based within the Ochsner Health System in the greater New Orleans, LA region.

Job Description

• Join a department consisting of 38 pathologists and two PhDs.
• Work within a community group made up of 11 pathologists who currently staff 4 hospitals within the greater New Orleans area.
• Collaborate with 12 pathologists who practice primarily anatomic pathology at the Ochsner Medical Center-New Orleans campus, providing expertise in dermatopathology, transplant pathology, GU and GI pathology, as well as cytopathology.
• Engage with additional clinical pathologists with expertise in blood banking, hematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry.
• This position is for the New Orleans Ochsner Main Campus Hospital location as part of the Anatomic Pathologist Group.
• The Ochsner Health system processes approximately 95,000 surgical cases and 50,000 cytology cases annually, offering a vast spectrum of cases with a wide range of complexity.
• Support a solid organ transplantation program and comprehensive oncology services, including a state-of-the-art breast cancer center and a bone marrow transplant program.
• Participate in academic initiatives as Ochsner Medical Center is an academic institution, serving as an affiliate training site for 2 local accredited pathology training programs as well as rotating medical students.

Requirements

• Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• 5 years of experience preferred in cytology or FNA and diagnostic surgical pathology.
